somatic counselling

Welcome.

It can be challenging in today’s world to stay connected to ourselves, especially right now with everything that is going in the outside world.

Life can bring challenges that touch deep places within, and leave us feeling fear, doubt, worry, disconnection, anxiety and confusion. With these difficult feelings it can often be hard to reach out for support or even know we need it.

 I’m glad you arrived here.

I am a registered therapeutic counsellor, biodynamic craniosacral therapist, parental educator and coach. I offer online Zoom and phone counselling as well as in person.

I currently live in Peachland in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. I am blessed to live in the Syilx traditional territory, a magical land with deserts, alpine lakes, mountains and endangered grasslands. I live a block from the stunning Okanagan lake that I enjoy pondering, admiring, and swimming in. Since moving here, I am blessed with a yard and big vegetable garden.

I particularly appreciated Bonnie’s attuned, grounded presence and her responsiveness to my needs and to what was happening in my body. I love that she met me where I was at and gently invited me to possibilities without any pressure.

Here’s how I can help

I help create a safe, supportive container in which we can explore feelings, thoughts, behaviours and repeating patterns in your life that you are needing to disentangle from or change. Together we can uncover your strengths, skills and resources already within you, forge openings for new neural pathways to become available to support your journey back to a fuller, more integrated way of being.

I believe in the innate wisdom of the body, what it has to share with us, and in every individual’s ability to move through suffering, to grow and to heal.

I offer an attuned, empathetic, curious and compassionate approach to working together.

Drawing from trauma renegotiation work, attachment theory, somatic practices, and current neuroscience, I specialize in helping people who have been impacted by early developmental trauma, re-pattern those early experiences using a somatic based approach. The good news we are discovering now (with the help of neuroscience), is that no matter what happens to us in life, we have neuroplasticity on our side, and we can shift and change and regrow our brains and nervous systems from the inside out.

Bonnie has the kind curiosity and grounded, soothing, and intuitive presence that is necessary for this subtle and intimate work. I trust her implicitly and would not hesitate to recommend her.

 Together we

  • Create a safe space where you can share your what your current challenges are and receive support.

  • Take each layer of your experience working somatically (with the body), emotionally, and cognitively to understand and begin to find healing from within.

  • Find safety where there was none, protection that was lacking, and a peace and acceptance to be able to move forward with confidence.

If the possibility of working with me sparks your interest, please reach out and contact me. I offer a complimentary 20-minute chat on the phone to connect and see if we might be a good fit for each other.
